ERIN FETHERSTON SPRING/SUMMER 2016 COLLECTION – NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Fashion

Erin Fetherston is always a desired guest on the catwalk, as we have admired her perfect ethereal collections since the very first day of her appearance in the fashion world back in 2005. You probably know quite well that she prefers her comfort zone more to experiments, almost never going further to denim or manly silhouettes. However, you will be surprised quite positively at the sight of the very thrilling, soft and fresh Erin Fetherston spring/summer 2016 RTW collection that has a nice combination of “old and new”. Having a peculiar inspirational background of fresh images with countryside air from David Hamilton and Deborah Turbeville, the designer created an amazing super-wearable feminine lineup filled with both fresh daytime and romantic cocktail looks.

Erin Fetherston Spring/Summer 2016 Collection

The opening look of the show is a bright orange dress on a youthful and natural looking model that creates the carefree feel of a stroll in the countryside. Then other “angels” follow her mildly stepping in lightweight floral, white Spanish dotted, chiffon dresses, transparent blouses, long chiffon scarf dresses with deep cut V-neck, soft cotton shirt-frocks. Nice ankle-length navy culottes appeared here and there topped with Gatsby-inspired transparent white dotted shirts that give such a thrilling womanly look to a girl without overwhelming in details. The collection has a number of luxurious smooth and fine long dresses that are so feminine and yet never too bright.

The shades included in the collection are very light featuring mainly whites, sky-blues and greys. Some pieces could be perfect for bridesmaids, and the long white net-floral embellished dresses will look ideal even for a wonderful wedding on the beach. There are two pieces that we would like to mention separately: the first one is the extremely simple V-neck thin-strap black skinny dress that looks just amazing on the girl’s body – it is like you can smell the scent of a woman even through the picture. And the second one is the minimalist light grey X dress that has tiny symmetrical dots and mesh inserts on the neck: wearing this I imagine a princess or an extremely elegant woman that appears on a gathering and leaves everyone speechless.

This time Erin decided to go further in experiments creating a capsule collection of minaudières, which go perfectly with any of the numbers in the line. This is a witty step in business especially considering the fact that the brand is well-known and anticipated. The small bags are round, with gold mirror rims and words like “love” written on them.

The whole feeling of the Erin Fetherston spring 2016 collection is positive, breathtaking and romantic, which is the very thing you want to gain in spring. Even the hair and makeup of the models transfers the light breeze with the natural hairstyles, minimalist makeup and flawless skin. We can surely say that the experiments that Erin brought forth this time injected a fresh air to the style of her eponymous brand, and we dare her to go further, as she has the ultimate base for success – talent!

LC LAUREN CONRAD FOR KOHL’S SPRING/SUMMER 2016 COLLECTION – NYFW

Fashion

More or less eight months of work and the amazing talent of Lauren Conrad resulted in the springiest collection ever that was unveiled at the New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night. Though being Conrad’s first outing, the limited edition LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s spring/summer 2016 collection was enough to draw the attention of fashion enthusiasts all over the world. Conrad herself was very contented with the runway show. “The LC Runway show may have come and gone in the blink of an eye but I am still floating on cloud nine!” she expressed her emotions on her personal blog after the show. By the way, those who are already in search of this or that item from the collection are lucky enough to find some pieces already available for purchase at Kohl’s stores. Despite the collection having got unveiled during the fashion week (you expect super-expensive pieces, right?), the prices range between $12 and $300.

What regards the style of the designs, Conrad and her team were inspired by an enchanted forest theme. No wonder, the whole collection is saturated with romance and femininity. The models of the runway show resembled forest fairies with super natural loose updo hairstyles and makeup. The romantic mood was also expressed through the use of a soft color palette comprising lots of crisp whites and pastel tones and enriched with rich burgundies and sapphire blues mainly used for the vintage-inspired velvet pieces. Pretty 3D appliqués reminiscent of flowers, lots of organza and feathery motifs injected a breezy and ethereal air into the designs, and the same can be said about the lace, pretty ruffles and fluid silhouettes providing so much movement to the pieces.

Some pieces of the collection, such as tulle and sequin dresses, tops with macramé and high-waisted velvet shorts and skirts were entirely influenced by Lauren’s favorite vintage style. Some of the most noteworthy pieces unveiled are the romantic white dresses with lace hems and sleeves and a Greek Goddess themed dress with narrow pleats. There was also place for high-waisted pants with wide legs, strapless maxi dresses with sweetheart necklines, lace shorts teamed with semi-transparent or macramé tops, classic yet interesting white shirts, cocktail dresses and much more. The focal point of the collection was the tiny flower print on the adorable maxi dresses and skirts that symbolized spring in such a romantic way. Special attention should also be paid to the rich blue velvet top matched with a powdery organza skirt and feminine kitten heels, which will highlight the image of a spring girl.

The maxi cardigans, jumpsuits, little flat shoes and skirts with foam-like hems are a real dream for girls and those women, who are more into a sophisticated, girly style. There were also a couple of light coats showcased in order to provide warmth and comfort on the transitional days of spring, though most items of the collection tenderly whispered about the sunny and loving spring only.

Overall, the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s spring 2016 collection is all about details, because what really lures is not just the shapes and materials used, but the tiny prints, accessories and elements that bring forth a fantastic bunch of associations connected with spring, love and romance.

Fashion

With New York Fashion Week spring 2016 being in full swing now, we slowly start getting to know the gorgeous fashion trends for the spring to come and, of course, we see lots of our favorites from the year of 2015. You have probably noticed that the sensuous Sixties and Seventies become an inspiration for many designers and high street retailers, giving birth to amazing collections we can never have enough of. This time we’d like to draw your attention to the Sonia by Sonia Rykielspring/summer 2016 collection, which partially pays tribute to both the disco girl image and punk-style from those years. One more time, Julie de Libran has managed to create an undeniably youthful and chic collection that inspires, lures and makes you fall in love with the iconic Parisian style at first glance.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Spring/Summer 2016 Collection

The main materials such as tweed and denim add a nostalgic feel to the overall collection, making the wearer feel like “a kid in her mother’s closet again.” Dresses with high waists, rainbow-motive colors and punk-inspired belts come in an abundance creating a sensation of being in a fantastic time-whirl. There is also space for vintage-inspired high-waisted shorts combined with high heels and chain-detailed bags, which definitely create an image of a Parisian girl.

No one can deny: Julie de Libran never ceases to amaze! Before starting the work with Sonia Rykiel her name was linked to Louis Vuitton, Gianfranco Ferré, Versace and Prada. Quite big stars on the world fashion trail! She took her new position with no less creative passion, shining brightly during her debut show at Paris Fashion Week 2015. If this didn’t sound perfect enough, Julie de Libran continuous making clothes under her own name as well, just in case you can’t have enough of her Sonia Rykiel chic creations. What regards her major occupation Julie continues following Sonia’s footsteps, but she does this in her own way, of course.

Staying true to the brand’s aesthetic, she has created fresh and modern designs for spring with a distinctive Sixties flair, pieces that are bright, colorful, yet totally wearable and functional. Next to the denim blues, we have bright orange and eye-feasting prints, and when it comes to the styles of the clothes and the lengths, think both bohemian maxis and super minis putting the focus on your leggy legs.

It’s not just the clothes that make a statement in the collection, but also the smart accessories, particularly the bright peep-toe high-heel shoes boldly matched with colorful socks, the comfy sandals and that heart-printed oversized clutch that can be the ideal thing to invest in if you intend making the traffic stop as you pass by. Style your hair into a natural ‘70s inspired do with bangs and add subtle makeup accents to define your facial features and you are ready to walk out the door in a fresh spring-ready look that leaves the gloomy winter behind!

DECODING KENDALL JENNER’S CASUAL STYLE

Fashion

With the famous K sisters making waves in Hollywood at every special event, we think that one of them needs to be especially singled out for her utmost fashion sense with little vulgar accents on her outfits – that being Kendall Jenner. You have been the witness of this rising-star supermodel taking the fashion world by storm becoming the muse of Karl Lagerfeld and starring in advertising campaigns of such luxury brands as Balmain, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, and Fendi. She definitely feels the fashion and style deeply, as she is able to somehow rock the simplest and weirdest pieces making them look the most desirable and chic outfits that you could ever imagine. Of course, Kendal Jenner’s style sense has caught our attention both on the red carpet and the streets of the cities, where she prefers to look effortless chic and cool while mostly wearing her favorite jeans styled with powerful accessories. It’s no news that there are a lot of stylists and professional makeup artists working with celebs to ensure their picture-perfect looks when they get caught by paparazzi in the streets, still, we would like to highlight some very strong characteristics of Kendall Jenner’s casual street style, showing you her best looks spotted recently that contain no stylist’s influence.

Kendall Jenner Casual Street Style Looks

Minimalism is the key to Kendall Jenner’s standout chic looks. The objectives of paparazzi catch this model every now and then, and in almost every single picture we see very simple but gorgeous combos of natural or “no makeup” makeup and laidback casual clothing pieces we all wear on a daily basis. But the interesting fact is that she somehow rocks them in a way that appears super fashionable and a real trendsetter for most of us. There is always a strong statement-making accent about her overall look. Take her wearable outfit of skin-tight black leather leggings, a white V-neck sleeveless fringed top and thigh-high snakeskin boots, for instance. Can you see how well the latter accentuates her crazy long legs? Or check out her look when she was spotted leaving a NYC restaurant wearing high-waisted denim pants, a bright orange three-quarter-sleeve top, oxfords and a black leather satchel. The bright color looks so nice and not overdone at all, when she teams them up with timeless pieces that go perfectly with anything, basically. As we talk about Kendall’s love for satchel, see how many times she uses it as a finishing touch to her street looks: once she carries it with the orange-sand high-neck sleeveless top, bold mini denim skirt and light brown suede boots, while on a different occasion she was spotted carrying it with sportswear.

Naturally she takes care of her flawless figure to always be fit, so we see her in tight black leggings, sports bras and sneakers multiple times. She likes style mixes as well, so she often wears chunky boots with denim as well, like when she teamed the ripped denim pants with black-and-white striped crop top to create a super-dazzling street style look. The most outstanding feature about Kendall’s street style looks is that they are super wearable and literally anyone could rock them. We love the effortless glam that she shows in every single picture teaching the fans how to look fabulous without trying too hard. Check out, for instance, her extremely easy gorgeous outfits of monochrome dresses and sneakers finished off with saddle bags that she wears many times, like when she was captured wearing a light grey sweater dress with white sneakers and Dior sunglasses when in Los Angeles. Mostly you can see that the soft bohemian style is one of her favorites along with the never-aging denim that she sports on every opportunity possible.

We think that there is a lot that we could learn and use in our outfit choices from Kendall’s personal style, her main preferences being convenience, minimalism, ease and elegance. We are totally in love with the many fantastic combos, youthful buns, ponytails and natural loose hairstyles that she shows off every now and then, which makes us think that she might become the next fashion icon of our time.

ELIZA CUMMINGS FOR EMPORIO ARMANI FALL 2015 CAMPAIGN

Fashion

The mega fashion house Emporio Armaniis here to embrace the breezy season of fall with its Italian-chic semi-classic and semi-casual outfits. The company has established itself as a synonym of luxury and opulence, giving any woman a decidedly flirty, feminine appeal. Being deprived of any eye-popping decorations, colors and embellishments, Emporio Armani was the starting point in minimalistic style. This fall around the youth-oriented luxury fashion brand stays true to its spectacular style and presents a chic ad campaign for its fall runway collection. The Emporio Armani fall 2015 ad campaign has been photographed by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Clare Richardson with the British brunette top-model Eliza Cummings taking the leading role. With Emporio Armani’s vast assortment of new proposals on her sensual body, Eliza is wandering around New York City in the gloomy ambience of fall, showing off elegant shades and styles across the city streets.

Eliza Cummings for Emporio Armani Fall 2015 Campaign

Geometric prints, minimalistic embellishments, subdued designing solutions and cold autumnal shades are what make us deeply plunge into Emporio Armani’s everlasting and perpetual voguish atmosphere. It goes without saying that the campaign’s harmonious air is worked out with the utmost sense of style and beauty. Gloomy fall, Emporio Armani luxury pieces, Eliza Cummings’s classic beauty… The tempting chain is undeniably the best inspiration for us to spice up our cold season with Emporio Armani fashions.

Throwing a glance at the campaign offerings is enough to fall in love with the collection, let alone exploring it with all details. The Emporio Armani fall 2015 flaring dresses and culottes perfectly go with the windy days of the season especially when finished off with a textured coat in red, a black furry coat or a tight fitting checkered blazer with a red bow on it. The designers are likely to have fallen for bow details this fall. Taking a closer look at the pieces, you will notice a bow-like design on a black blazer with sequins on it, a little satin bow on the printed blazer, but also a red leather bow can be observed on the collar of a printed red-and-white coat. The brand has found a really very effective combination of two colors – sky blue with wine red, which find their realization in the form of abstract prints on an elegant matching suit and on a fur coat.

A retrospective look at the early 1975 will remind us of Giorgio Armani’s innovation in the fashion industry. He was the first to craft feminine blazers by just accentuating the waistline and baring the chest with a button. From that time on we have been enjoying blazers with diverse designs. Emporio Armani’s fall 2015 campaign hasn’t ignored the timeless blazers and included them in the collection to provide us with a stunning look while attending business meetings.

The brand has taken care of our romantic look as well, matching a long black dress with a large flower print on one side of it and a satin red coat, which is finished with a pair of masculine-style shoes and a cross-body bag.
